“When the truth is acknowledged through the eyes of the Soul, then the true light of Living illuminates all things” - Light Beyond the Words

In the early 1990’s when I worked in the psychiatric hospital, I was on watch with a young lady whom was quite effectively starving herself. She had a long history with Anorexia Nervosa and this time was sliding away.

Her mother and sister paced franticly, hands waving, pleading aloud, “Is there anything that we can do? Is there ANYTHING we can do?” The young lady did not move, barely breathing, she continued to stare at the wall, she said nothing. Her energy felt as if she was not there at all, disconnected from herself, frozen in the thin high pitch of a cortisol buzz. Day after day their visibly frightened and open hearts pleaded with her to return to life and eat.

This morning her estranged father came to visit. The moment he entered the room everything shifted. Continue Reading »
